The inspiration for Rhome2own stems from our founder Eric Christensen’s personal experience with the financial pitfalls of traditional real estate. After selling his family home in 2015, he was struck by how high transaction costs—from commissions to closing fees—consumed nearly all of the property's hard-earned appreciation. He realized that if it weren't for a strong market, the sale would have resulted in a financial loss. This experience highlighted a fundamental problem: the conventional model of buying and selling homes creates significant financial barriers that make it difficult to build wealth.

The question of "Is there a better way?" stayed with him. A breakthrough came years later from an unlikely source: a rent-to-own agreement for his son's first musical instrument. This simple, effective model sparked the core idea for Rhome2own: What if people could build ownership in a home with the same gradual and accessible approach?

From that moment, Eric began designing a program that reimagines the path to homeownership. Rhome2own was developed to empower individuals to build equity and benefit from an appreciating asset, all while reducing the risks and upfront costs of a traditional purchase. It’s a solution born from a personal challenge, created to provide a more equitable and financially sound future for our clients.
